Another podium for Rob Collard

After finishing 6th in Race One Rob Collard secured a hard-fought second place in Race Two; the Hampshire racer charging through from sixth on the grid to take his second podium finish of the 2017 season and the 55th of his BTCC career.

Rob’s is now lying fifth in the Drivers’ Championship ahead of the trip to his local circuit, Thruxton, for the next event on May 6-7.

Rob Collard said: “I was pretty content with my qualifying pace, even if the result was 13th on the grid, and – as usual – the speed we showed in race conditions was very strong. I was very pleased to finish second in Race Two because things were pretty tight at times. Race Three was frustrating because I was hit pretty hard on the first lap and damaged my suspension, which became more of a problem as the race went on and the track went from being full wet to greasy, because I had almost no grip under acceleration, so 12th was the result.
