This weekend (6 & 7 April) marks the start of the 2019 season for Collard Racing, with the first of the family’s competitive races of the year, supported by Duo and Hitachi Construction Equipment.
Rob takes to the track at the famous Brands Hatch Indy circuit in the first of ten weekends of the 2019 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.
Meanwhile Ricky Collard has been gearing up to once again race across some of Europe’s finest tracks in the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 with R-Motorsport in the Blancpain Sprint series. His first race is just one month away (5 May, Brands Hatch).
Younger brother Jordan Collard has been getting to grips in testing with the McLaren 570s GT4 car that he’ll race in the British GT Championship. In December Jordan was selected as a member of the prestigious McLaren Driver Development programme; an achievement that topped his best year yet after a highly successful campaign in the British Mini Challenge JCW Championship in 2018.
Ahead of the BTCC weekend Rob said: “I’m incredibly proud of the boys for what they’ve achieved to-date in their racing careers, and they now have exciting seasons ahead with McLaren and Aston Martin. We’ve all been training hard off-season, including a training week in Tenerife in January together. With each of us in new machinery for 2019, pre-season testing has been key. For me the return to FWD with PMR is an exciting prospect given my previous success behind the wheel of an Astra, winning the Independent’s Championship in 2003.”
